Workforce Management Plan
What does a Workforce Management Plan Include?
Whilst they are often underappreciated, Volunteers are the heart and soul of any sporting Club, and without them, most Clubs would struggle to even function. Despite their importance, many volunteers are overworked, and volunteer burnout is a significant issue for many Clubs.
The Workforce Management Plan is designed to help you spread the operations workload amongst your Club Members. We often get asked why we call it the “Workforce Plan” – this is because we believe that Clubs need to operate like a business and treat its volunteers and employees as such, and that too many Clubs are reluctant to do so. Without a structure that resembles a professional organisation, Clubs can’t expect volunteers and members to be held accountable and treat their responsibilities seriously.
There are two key steps in this process:
Establish and introduce a Workforce Structure with position descriptions, ensuring that Volunteers and employees at the Club clearly understand their roles and responsibilities
Spark the “cultural revolution”, creating an expectation that all Club Members make contributions around the Club to take the burden off the few the do too much
Working with you to successfully establish, introduce and maintain a Workforce Structure that is tailored to your Club within these principles is what the Workforce Management Plan is all about.
